Netsolutions and Juniper sponsored the Dream for a Cure Charity Ball held at Nautical, 3 Station Pier in Port Melbourne.
The gala event raised over $50,000 for breast cancer research at one of Australia’s most prestigious research institutes, the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research. 100% of the proceeds will be directly allocated to research.
Since 2010, Netsolutions Australia and Juniper Networks have provided the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute with a sophisticated, high speed network and security infrastructure to enable the institute’s data analysis systems.
Walter and Eliza Hall Institute has:
• discovered breast cancer stem cells, believed to play a major role in the development of some breast cancers. This radically changed the understanding of how breast cancer develops.
• revealed the link between sustained exposure to the female hormones oestrogen and progesterone and an increased risk of breast cancer.
• explained how some breast stem cells are more likely to become aggressive cancer cells.
“We sponsored the Dream for a Cure event because we understand the importance of research and the devastating effect that breast cancer has on our society and families” Mr Erin Harte, General Manager – Netsolutions.

The increased use of Wi-Fi enabled devices and laptops by mobile workers has introduced new on-ramps for security breaches that threaten the corporate enterprise network. As a result, IT teams are struggling with the best way to enable basic connectivity for their mobile users across a wide variety of mobile platforms.
The bring-your-own-device (BYOD) trend is also contributing to these challenges. When organisations give employees permission to use their personal mobile, tablet or laptop device for work, IT teams need a strategy in place that will ensure the protection of company data as well as securing the personal data on the employee device.
